Carrara...
All Marble was
once limestone and pure white in colour.
Veined Marbles
derive their special characteristics from the variation on
colour and size of the crystals in different areas of the
stone.
Most calcareous
stones have been formed by sediments accumulated on the sea
bottom. Physical and chemical changes then transform them
into Marble.
The name Marble
is commercially given to almost any calcareous rock that can
be deeply polished.
